We are looking for a skilled and detail-focused Architectural Draftsperson to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality architectural documentation across a range of projects. Position Overview We are seeking a full-time Architectural Draftsperson to assist our design and documentation team with the preparation of architectural drawings, BIM models, construction documentation, schedules and consultant coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with architects, project leaders, consultants, builders and clients to help develop projects from early design stages through to DA, CDC/CC, tender and construction documentation. This role is suited to someone with strong technical drafting skills, a good understanding of architectural documentation, and the ability to work carefully across design, compliance and construction detailing. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, edit and revise architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules.
- Assist in developing architects’ concepts into coordinated drawing packages and construction documentation.
- Prepare preliminary sketches, working drawings, specifications and documentation for DA, CDC/CC, tender and construction stages.
- Interpret plans, planning controls, regulations, the National Construction Code, Australian Standards and relevant codes of practice.
- Produce and maintain BIM models and project documentation using ArchiCAD and other relevant software.
- Coordinate architectural documentation with structural, civil, services, fire, landscape and other consultant inputs.
- Liaise with builders, consultants, certifiers, suppliers and other project stakeholders as required.
- Maintain drawing accuracy, revision control and consistency across project documentation.
- Contribute to a collaborative studio environment and support the delivery of high-quality architectural outcomes. Requirements
- AQF Diploma or Advanced Diploma
- At least 1 year of relevant post-qualification work experience in architectural drafting, building design or architectural documentation; or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Strong drafting and documentation skills, with experience preparing architectural drawing packages.
- Experience using ArchiCAD and BIM workflows is highly desirable.
- Understanding of Australian construction methods, NCC/BCA requirements, Australian Standards and planning approval processes.
- Ability to read, interpret and coordinate architectural and consultant drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear, accurate and well-coordinated documentation.
- Good communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally with consultants, builders, suppliers and project stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative design team.
- Experience with residential, commercial, hospitality or mixed-use projects is highly regarded. Benefits
