About Role: Caboolture Private Hospital is seeking dedicated and compassionate Oncology Nurses to join our growing team. This pivotal role involves delivering high-quality, specialised nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and supportive care. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, advocating for our patients and their families throughout their treatment journey. Key Responsibilities:
- Providing expert clinical care to oncology patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
- Administering chemotherapy and other cancer treatments safely and according to established protocols.
- Monitoring patients for adverse reactions and managing side effects effectively.
- Educating patients and their families on treatment plans, medication management, and symptom control.
- Offering emotional support and psychological care to patients and their support networks.
- Collaborating effectively with oncologists, allied health professionals, and other nursing colleagues to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records.
- Actively participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the oncology unit.
- Adhering to all Ramsay Health Care policies, procedures, and national standards of practice. About You: We are looking for Registered Nurses with a genuine passion for oncology and a commitment to patient-centred care. You will demonstrate excellent clinical skills, strong communication, and a compassionate approach. Essential Criteria:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 2-3 years' post-graduate experience in an oncology setting.
- Demonstrated experience in the safe administration of chemotherapy.
- Current intravenous cannulation competency.
- Strong understanding of oncology protocols, common chemotherapy regimens, and symptom management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathise and build rapport with patients and families.
- A commitment to continuous professional development. Desirable Criteria:
- Post-graduate qualifications in Oncology Nursing or a related field.
- Experience with central venous access device management.
