We have full-time positions available for Chef de Partie in Cairns QLD 4870. SKILLS The position requires a Cert IV in Commercial Cookery and have at least one year of relevant experience as a chef. RESPONSIBILITIES As the Chef de Partie you will be responsible for specific food production and the supervision, management, and training of other kitchen team members in your section and support the head chef. You will ensure the restaurant serves quality meals in an productive and timely manner DUTIES
- Assist with planning menus and ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals
- Experiment and create new dishes for the menu and specials
- Prepare a range of food dishes and serve at a high standard
- Instruct cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and works engaged in food preparation.
- Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays.
- Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff and advice on cooking procedures.
- Coordinate planning, budgeting, and purchasing for all the food operations.
- Preparing food with knowledge of nutrition values of commodities and the effects of cooking on nutritional value of food.
- Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met.
- Check the quantity and quality of received products.
- Discussing food preparation issues with manager, attend meetings, receiving or issuing instructions for other managerial staff.
- Proper handling of electrical equipment used like coffee machine, microwave, oven, food processor, refrigerator, freezer etc.
- Maintaining occupation health safety procedures.
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
- Following procedures in relation to food handling, personal and general hygiene, and typical hygiene control in the hospitality industry. SALARY The position will attract an annual salary of $75000
