Swimming Teacher (Hawthorn East)

Swim Teachers – Multiple Positions Available Maccabi Aquatics | Hawthorn East, Melbourne Maccabi Aquatics is a not-for-profit community swim school based at the Gringlas Sports Centre, Bialik College. We are currently recruiting for the following roles:
- Swim Teachers
- Infant Aquatics Teachers
- Inclusion Teachers
- School Program Teachers We welcome applications from experienced aquatics professionals as well as those who are passionate about working with children, love being part of a supportive team, and are eager to grow their skills through relevant training and qualifications. About the Role As part of our team, you will play a meaningful role in the swimming journeys of our students — from beginners finding their confidence in the water to developing swimmers building competitive skills. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Learn to Swim lessons and programs tailored to the individual needs of participants
- Assess children's swimming capabilities and track their progress
- Communicate effectively with Deck Supervisors regarding swimmer development and progression
- Be a positive role model and an inspiration to the children in your care Skills & Attributes We're Looking For
- Energetic, innovative and engaging teaching style
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Empathy and patience when working with participants of all abilities
- Understanding of WHS requirements and public safety practices within an aquatic facility
- Ability to commit to an agreed schedule of shifts
- Capacity to work effectively both independently and as a team-oriented team member Key Requirements Essential
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or Swim Australia Teacher qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Current CPR certificate Desirable
- AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia Competitive Strokes qualification
- AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia Access and Inclusion qualification
- Any additional AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia extension qualifications
- Availability to work at least one weekend shift What We Offer
