We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Assistant to join our Payroll team on a full-time basis. The key to success within this position is the ability to be proactive, self-driven and competent in managing time effectively paired with the ability to be adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of the business.

**About the role**

The Payroll Assistant will work alongside the Payroll Coordinator and Payroll Officer to ensure the accurate and timely processing of Carrington’s fortnightly payroll, in addition (but not limited to) the following:

- Assist in the timely and accurate processing of the fortnightly payroll for all staff in accordance with the current Enterprise Agreements, contracts and company policies and procedures
- Ensure the company complies with its obligations under relevant employment law and current industrial instruments including remuneration changes such as salary changes and allowances
- Assist in calculation and payment of termination and redundancy payments
- Ensuring all leave entitlements are administered efficiently and recorded correctly
- Production of payslips, payroll process reporting, adhoc reports
- Provide payroll advice and answer queries to staff as required

**About you**:

- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proven working knowledge of appropriate payroll systems is essential; UKG Ready & Payroll Metrics would be highly regarded
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team
- Effective time management and organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloadsAbility to ensure positive employee experience when dealing with staff queries
