Senior Java Developer (Contract)
Location: ACT / NSW (Hybrid)
Duration: 12-month contract + 12-month extension
Hours: Part time (approx. 27 hours per week)
Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to support the delivery of application and infrastructure projects within a large enterprise setting. This role will involve working on a Java-based system, contributing to both project delivery and ongoing enhancements in a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
Develop custom reporting solutions based on business requirements
Contribute to project delivery and BAU development activities
Monitor progress and deliver work to agreed timelines
Identify and manage risks in software delivery
Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders
Support continuous improvement of existing applications
Required Experience
Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a Java Developer
Experience working with enterprise or bespoke Java applications
Robust experience with SQL and reporting solutions
Experience integrating Java-based systems
Ability to quickly understand and work within existing applications
Nice to Have
Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Jasper Reports or similar)
Familiarity with Java build tools (e.g. Apache Ant)
Exposure to DevOps or task management tools
Experience with MS SQL Server Reporting Services or similar
Experience working in Agile environments
