The Centre's goal is focused on working with industry to unlock the positive potential of AI in Australia by delivering reliable information and trusted guidance to build confidence for all Australians.
The National AI Centre’s mandate is to drive productivity and support the development of economic growth through AI adoption and diffusion. It works to build market intelligence on the adoption, acceleration, and impact of AI technology in Australian businesses and to develop an authoritative voice for Australian industry to trust as they develop AI solutions for the global market.
The NAIC team leads several high profile initiatives such as Australia’s AI Month, the AI Leadership Summit, Australia’s AI Sprint, AI Industry Connections, the AI Industry Directory, and the development of the actionable guidance that supports the Governments voluntary guardrails. These initiatives together with regular industry reports, enable Australia’s businesses to take advantage of the AI prospect in a safe and responsible way.

**The opportunity**:
- The National AI Centre _has several EL1 Individual Contributor roles in the Responsible AI and AI Literacy team. This team focuses on developing literacy and confidence in the value of adopting AI and the promotion of AI adoption, across the Australian economy and society in a way that is safe and responsible.
Areas of potential focus cover AI literacy, and include:
- Supporting the delivery of programs that promotes AI literacy and responsible AI use in Australia.
- Building and strengthening partnerships with industry associations, local and international technology vendors, business networks, and training providers.
- Convening experts to create or curate accessible tools, templates, and resources that demystify AI concepts and support safe adoption.
- Coordinating case studies with Australian organisations adopting AI tools, showcasing practical examples of responsible use.
- Evaluating program impact and contribute to long-term strategy for responsible AI adoption and AI literacy across the Australian economy.
- Supporting the delivery of signature online and in-person events
We are looking for people with backgrounds in areas of program development and delivery, AI and cloud technology industry experience, stakeholder engagement, event management and procurement.
- Experience developing and delivering industry programs and initiatives. Ideally with a strong focus on training, skilling and development.
- Understanding of AI or cloud technologies, options for building AI literacy across businesses, industries and communities.
- Proven relationship skills and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders across industry, civil society and government.
- Good communication skills and the ability to efficiently prepare materials for presentation to senior officials, forums and non-expert audiences.
- Operational excellence, with the ability to carefully manage projects according to processes, timelines and budgets.
- Empathy for minority and underrepresented organisations and communities.
- Ability to work autonomously to complete tasks.

At the Executive Level 1, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks which could include:
