The Buyer may consider exceptionally strong candidates located outside the ACT. Any proposed candidate outside the ACT should include details of their location and proposed method of being routinely in office. The successful candidate should be able to routinely attend One Canberra Avenue, Forrest, ACT, 2603 in accordance with the Buyer's Flexible Work Policy. Cost attributed to on-site attendance, including travel and accommodation, is the sole responsibility of the Seller. Subject to commencement, performance, negotiation, and operational requirements of the Business Area, the successful candidate may be permitted to work remotely up to 2-days per week.
- Maximum Hours: 40 hours per week Job Details The Department of Finance (Finance), is seeking to undertake an Approach to Market (ATM) process to procure a Senior Software Engineer (Developer) EL1 Equivalent otherwise called a GovTEAMS Developer for the GovTEAMS Program Office. The GovTEAMS Developer must demonstrate excellent front-end developer skills with extensive experience in JavaScript and React (within a .Net environment) and additionally knowledge of Azure and Office 365 for the GovTEAMS Program Office. The GovTEAMS Developer will support the delivery, enhancement and maintenance of the GovTEAMS platform. The role will contribute to the design, build and support of technical solutions that improve platform performance, functionality and user experience. Key Duties and Responsibilities As part of this engagement, the GovTEAMS Developer's Key duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Developing enhancements to existing applications.
- Upgrading existing applications to latest version of React and upgrading NPM packages to resolve/mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Upgrade the existing application authentication library from MS ADAL to MSAL.
- Development of React based components for both Teams and/or SharePoint.
- Refactor the existing applications to take advantage of recent React development patterns.
- Testing of developed applications and upgrades in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Providing advice internally regarding the GovTEAMS application and underlying infrastructure.
- Problem-solving, with the ability to see and solve issues before problems arise.
- Providing specialist technical support of escalated, critical, and unresolved issues that relate to the application and its processes. Desirable Skills and Experience Desirable skills and experience include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Experience with development of Microsoft Teams apps.
- Experience with the development of SharePoint webparts.
- Experience in the use of the Microsoft Graph API is an advantage.
- Experience in developing Web Applications in Microsoft Azure is an advantage.
- Knowledge of C# and .Net core (3.1 ).
- Knowledge of ASP .Net (preferably ASP .Net Core).
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Knowledge of developing secure applications (particularly in environments rated to PROTECTED). Technical Skills Refer to the Key duties and responsibilities portion of this RFQ. About the Team The Department of Finance, through the Government Services Branch (GSB), delivers and manages a range of whole-of-government digital platforms, including GovTEAMS. GovTEAMS is a Whole-of-Government collaboration service with two Microsoft Office 365 tenancies, GovTEAMS OFFICIAL and GovTEAMS PROTECTED. GovTEAMS enables secure, seamless collaboration across the Australian Public Service and with trusted partners outside of government. The platform supports a broad and diverse user base across Commonwealth, State and Territory agencies, as well as industry and academia, and is a critical enabler of digital collaboration and modern workplace initiatives across government. As the platform owner, Finance is responsible for the ongoing operation, enhancement and governance of GovTEAMS.
