Overview Join Nova's Aerospace Program within our Professional Services & Advisory business unit, delivering engineering workforce support across Defence and Prime Systems Integrators. The team provides specialist engineering expertise spanning systems engineering, integration, Verification & Validation, systems safety and assurance, alongside software, mechanical, electronic and aerospace disciplines. About the role We are now seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Systems Engineer to provide professional engineering systems engineering expertise to join our team in Canberra . Responsibilities
- Provide specialist engineering support across Defence and Prime client environments
- Contribute to systems engineering lifecycle activities
- Support Verification & Validation, systems safety and assurance activities in line with standards
- Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams across software, mechanical, electronic and aerospace domains
- Apply professional engineering judgement to solve complex, real‑world capability challenges
- Support delivery of engineering outcomes within regulated, safety‑critical environments Qualifications
- Degree or diploma qualification in engineering or a related technical discipline
- Experience supporting engineering activities across acquisition or sustainment systems, in a project environment
- Exposure to Model-Based-Systems-Engineering techniques and/or Command and Control (C2) project experience is advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams (software, mechanical, electronic or aerospace)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work in structured, regulated or safety‑critical environments
- High attention to detail and commitment to skilled engineering standards
- Willingness to operate in client‑facing consulting roles and adapt to different project environments
- Australian work rights and ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance
- These opportunities require you to already hold an active NV1 or higher AGSVA Security Clearance. Clearance & Eligibility Applicants must be Australian Citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate Defence clearance. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and may affect eligibility.
