The Venue

The Australian War Memorial combines a shrine, a world-class museum, and an extensive archive. The Memorial's purpose is to commemorate the sacrifice of those Australians who have died in war. Its mission is to assist Australians to remember, interpret and understand the Australian experience of war and its enduring impact on Australian society. The venue includes Poppy’s Café, The Landing Place Café and multiple events spaces.

We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team and to enjoy the fast paced environment the kitchen has to offer. We are looking for an outstanding person who has had experience working in a fast paced kitchen, functions and events and delivering good quality modern food.

Do you have?

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional kitchen

Able to work five days across a seven day operation

Must have Qualifications or equivalent trade experience

HACCP and sound Food Safety knowledge

Prepared to work across multi outlets including restaurant service, events and functions

Exceptional grooming and pride in presentation

Ability to produce quality food, use fresh produce and be creative

You are passionate, dedicated, reliable and are willing to learn

Flexible and willing attitude, clear communication and customer service skills
