Centre Cook (Canberra)

Denman Village Early Learning Centre is a, privately owned early childcare centre located in Denman Prospect. We are looking for an experienced cook who is passionate about food and nutrition. You will be responsible for nutrition planning and menu development, ordering, waste management, the centre vegetable gardens and all kitchen operations. A state of art, purpose built spacious kitchen overlooks the separate dining room, catering for up to 96 children each day. A minimum of 1-2 years of cooking experience is required for this position. Qualifications/Experience
- Food Safety Supervior Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Recognised qualifications in food handling and preparation
- Valid Working with Vunerable People Care
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Early childhood or childcare cooking experience is preferred but not essential Tasks and Responsibilities
- Plan and develop centre menus
- Oversee kitchen operations and nutrition management.
- Develop and Maintain robust links with the community and families
- Contribute to ongoing development of Quality Improvement plan.
