Car Park Attendant - Part Time (Canberra)

**Position Summary**

Retrieves carts and flatbeds from the parking area using a rope with clasping hook, pushing no more than 10 carts at once or using Cart Mule. Keeps the lot area free of debris and sweeps in front of the building as needed. Assists members in loading merchandise into their vehicles. Follow proper safety procedures and standards. Maintains courteous member service at all times.

**Job Duties/Essential Functions**
- Walks through the parking lot and surrounding areas to gather carts and flatbeds during business and post-business hours. Collect carts in groups not to exceed 8-10 at one time. Secures carts with a clasping cart rope and pushes the carts to the front of the warehouse. Collects flatbeds and pushes the flatbeds to the front of the warehouse.
- Picks up boxes, trash, and other debris to keep the lot area clear. Sweeps in front of the building and empties the trash. Cleans spills and trip hazards immediately. Tags and pushes carts/ flatbeds needing repair to designated areas.
- Assists members in loading merchandise into their vehicles, providing tie-down material when requested.
- Reports any suspicious activity in the lot to management.
- Follows proper Front End and general safety procedures and standards.
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and suppliers in the lot.

**_ Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery_**
- Carts, flatbeds, large wheeled bins, clasping cart ropes, rolling mop bucket with wringer, mop broom, click counter, 2-way radio, pallet jack, trash compactor, cardboard baler.

Education/Training: None

Licences/Certifications: RSA preferred (State specific)

Experience/Skills: Solid customer service, communication and interpersonal skills; Cash handling (preferred); Basic math skills
