Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. We currently have an opportunity for an Engineering Manager in Canberra, ACT to work on JC2SPO projects. What You’ll Do
- Deliver systems engineering within CASGs engineering management system to support effective sustainment of SPO products and projects.
- Develop and maintain Engineering Management Plans (EMP) and supporting artefacts aligned with ASDEFCON (Support) standards.
- Plan and execute engineering activities in line with product schedules, work agreements, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate engineering processes, reviews, and working groups (e.g. CDRL reviews, system safety forums, change boards) to support product delivery.
- Review and assure vendor deliverables to ensure they are safe, fit‑for‑purpose, compliant, and aligned to product baselines and configuration requirements. What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor of Engineering (or Engineers Australia recognised equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience supporting sustainment and engineering activities within complex Defence environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non‑technical audiences
- Experience supporting technical regulatory compliance, certification, or system safety activities
- Formal qualifications in Communications or related technology (highly desirable) Security Clearance Due to the nature of the work, the successful applicant must hold and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance, as required by the Commonwealth. In some cases, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may also be required. Benefits
