Location: Canberra (ACT) Sector: Federal Government Work Arrangement: Hybrid Work Type: Contract Contract Term: Initial contract until January 2027 with 1 extension of 12 months Security Clearance: NV1 We pay weekly About the Role An opportunity is available for an experienced Enterprise Architect to provide senior, hands‑on architectural support across a portfolio of digital products, platforms, and enabling technologies within a complex workplace. This role is focused on ensuring technology decisions are practical, well‑reasoned, and aligned to business priorities and delivery timelines. You will work closely with delivery teams, solution architects, and senior stakeholders to shape solution direction, identify cross‑system impacts early, and guide design decisions confidently. Supporting both major programs and business‑as‑usual initiatives, you will contribute to enterprise system uplift, cloud and infrastructure transitions, and enhancements to core digital platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Provide architectural advice across applications, integration, data, cloud, and infrastructure
- Assess solution options and designs, identifying risks, dependencies, and cross‑system impacts
- Collaborate with delivery teams and architects to ensure solutions are fit‑for‑purpose and aligned to enterprise direction
- Support delivery across major transformation programs and BAU initiatives
- Develop and maintain key architecture artefacts, including:
- Current and target state architectures
- Architecture patterns and standards
- Contribute to architecture governance, assurance, and design reviews
- Ensure alignment with security and compliance requirements
- Engage with business and technology stakeholders to support informed decision‑making Essential Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Enterprise Architect within complex organisations
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
- Experience working within APS procurement frameworks (e.g. Digital Marketplace or similar)
- Understanding of enterprise architecture principles and capability mapping
- Experience across multiple domains:
- Applications
- Integration
- Data
- Cloud
- Infrastructure
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Desirable Skills
- Experience with ERP systems or enterprise‑wide platform programs
- Experience contributing to technology strategy and investment roadmaps
