This is a unique opportunity offering a Monday to Friday, 9:30am-2:30pm schedule, ideal for someone looking to balance a rewarding role with personal commitments, while still being fully embedded in a collaborative and high-performing team
Flexibility for full-time may be considered for the right candidate.
About the Role
As a Float Practice Assistant, you will play a key role in providing coverage across the office
- supporting with annual leave, absences, or where additional assistance is required.
While you will gain exposure across a range of practice groups (including M&A;, Disputes and Real Estate), you will also have a home base within our Government team, allowing you to build strong relationships and develop a deeper understanding of the work.
You will be part of a close-knit team of 7 Practice Assistants, who work collaboratively to support one another and the wider office.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing diaries and coordinating internal and external meetings
- Coordinating domestic and international travel arrangements
- Supporting billing processes, expense management, and reporting
- Managing file processes including opening, closing, and archiving, and maintaining accurate records
- Providing administrative support across multiple practice groups as required
- Supporting the Government team with reporting and compliance-related activities
- Assisting with a broad range of administrative tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Strong administrative experience (legal experience is beneficial but not essential)
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A collaborative mindset and a team-first attitude
- A mature, qualified approach with sound judgement Security Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, you will need to:
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Be eligible to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance (we will support you through this process) While your clearance is being processed, you will support teams that do not require it.
