About the role At Secure Bits our Electricians are responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring all work complies with Australian standards and safety regulations. This role spans commercial, industrial and critical infrastructure environments, involving fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance and the provision of technical expertise to support electrical operations. Success in the role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent problem‑solving skills and high attention to detail. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, often in dynamic and high‑security environments. Our Electricians regularly travel to major cities across Australia to perform installation and maintenance work. The ability to travel for up to 5 consecutive business days at a time is essential. All business expenses, including meals, travel and accommodation are covered. When not on the road, you’ll work from our office or workshop, contributing to a range of support activities, including:
- Collaborating on design reviews and completing installation reports
- Preparing and scheduling upcoming installation and maintenance trips
- Supporting activities in the manufacturing workshop
- Operating machinery used to manufacture items for electrical installations If you’re self‑motivated, thrive in a fast‑paced environment and enjoy variety in your day—from hands‑on installation to design collaboration—this is the role for you. What we’re looking for We are seeking a trade‑qualified electrician with experience in electrical installation, fault‑finding and maintenance across diverse environments . The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules) and other relevant regulations . A solid commitment to workplace safety, risk management and compliance is essential. Qualified electrician with a valid electrical licence Valid driver’s licence Ability to obtain AGSVA and ASIC clearances Desired attributes We value candidates with strong technical skills, including the ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams, a commitment to workplace health and safety, effective troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities, and good communication skills to work well in a team. Experience in high‑security or complex environments, familiarity with UPS, power distribution, automation and lighting systems, mentoring apprentices and attention to detail with the ability to work independently are highly regarded. Key responsibilities Electrical Installation & Maintenance – Install, upgrade and repair electrical, electronic and communication systems for commercial and industrial clients. Fault Diagnosis & Technical Support – Troubleshoot electrical faults, assist in system commissioning and provide guidance to junior team members. Safety & Compliance – Ensure all work meets AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules) and workplace health and safety standards. Equipment & Documentation – Operate electrical tools safely and complete job reports, compliance certificates and timesheets accurately. Teamwork & Client Interaction – Collaborate with supervisors, project managers and clients while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and customer service. The role requires physical fitness to perform manual tasks such as lifting, climbing and working in confined spaces, with work conducted across construction sites, residential and commercial settings.
