Senior Project Manager - Defence (Canberra)

We’re looking for aconfident and driven Senior Project Manager who thrives on taking ownership, influencing key stakeholders, and delivering complex projects to a high standard. You’ll bring a proactive mindset, commercial awareness, and a passion for excellence in project delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of major projects, ensuring outcomes align with client objectives, timelines, and budgets
- Prepare and manage procurement documentation and processes , including Head Contractor and Managing Contractor engagements
- Develop and coordinate Public Works Committee (PWC) documentation
- Oversee design management and coordination across multidisciplinary teams
- Drive extensive stakeholder engagement , including government, clients, consultants, and contractors
- Manage and prioritise multiple concurrent project commitments in a fast-paced environment
- Lead, chair, and document client meetings, workshops, and key project discussions
- Provide strategic project leadership , mentoring and guiding junior team members
- Support business development activities and contribute to winning new work
- Deliver high-quality commission/programme management services
- Solid leadership capability with experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite ; Primavera experience highly regarded
- Exceptional report writing, documentation, and bid preparation skills
- Ability to operate effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated, proactive, and committed to delivering exceptional client outcomes Qualifications
- Baseline Security Clearance (minimum) – essential
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field:
- Construction Management
- Project Management
- Engineering
- Architecture
- Cost Management
- or equivalent industry experience
