- Design and develop menus in consultation with the Head Chef.
- Ensure dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.
- Maintain consistency across all food served.
- Set kitchen standards.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate kitchen staff; assign tasks and manage workflow during service.
- Ensure efficient use of time, staff, and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized and skilled kitchen environment.
- Schedule kitchen staff and manage labour costs.
- Mentor junior chefs and support skill development.
- Ensure and enforce discipline, teamwork, and professional conduct.
- Manage food purchasing and supplier relationships; monitor inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Control food costs and meet budget targets; conduct regular stock takes once a month.
- Address customer feedback and resolve food‑related complaints.
- Ensure portion control and plating consistency; work closely with Front of House management.
- Coordinate timing and service standards; communicate menu changes and special requirements clearly. Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in a similar role within the past five years.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced commercial kitchen.
- Ability to monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Strong communication skills and team attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and practices, and hygiene regulations.
