Job Summary Locations: Canberra, Brisbane, Coffs Harbour or Melbourne. Ongoing full‑time role supporting Microsoft infrastructure underpinning national operations, including mission‑critical Search and Rescue capability. Work across Windows Server, virtualisation, identity and cloud services in a collaborative ICT environment. Flexible work options and generous leave, including Christmas shutdown. About the Role This role delivers hands‑on infrastructure support across AMSA’s Microsoft environment, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of systems that underpin national operations, including Search and Rescue. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Windows Server and virtualisation platforms across on‑premises and cloud environments
- Administer identity and messaging services, including Active Directory, Entra ID and Exchange Online
- Ensure availability, performance and resilience of infrastructure through monitoring, backup and recovery practices
- Perform patching, vulnerability remediation and security hardening in line with standards and procedures
- Contribute to incident, problem and change management activities, providing technical input and implementation support
- Maintain accurate documentation and configuration records, supporting consistency and continuous improvement Qualifications
- Experience supporting Windows‑based server environments in an enterprise setting
- Practical experience with virtualised infrastructure platforms and associated tooling
- Working knowledge of identity and access services (Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID)
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 messaging services, including Exchange Online
- Strong understanding of patching, vulnerability remediation and secure configuration practices
- Familiarity with IT Service Management processes (incident, problem, change, configuration)
- Ability to work independently within defined frameworks and escalating appropriately
- Desirable: experience in government, regulated or business‑critical environments
