Release Train Engineer Contract Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer to support the delivery of large scale agile initiatives within a complex enterprise technology environment. This role is well suited to a senior agile professional with strong SAFe experience who enjoys coaching teams and enabling value delivery at scale. Contract details

- Contract length: 12 months with a possible 12 month extension
- Location: ACT, NSW or VIC
- Working arrangement: Hybrid
- Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
- Security clearance: Baseline
- Level: EL1 or EL2 equivalent About the role The Release Train Engineer acts as the servant leader and coach for an Agile Release Train, supporting multiple delivery teams to successfully plan, execute and deliver value. You will facilitate key SAFe ceremonies, manage dependencies and risks, and work closely with product and technology stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Key responsibilities
- Plan, organise and facilitate Agile Release Train ceremonies including PI Planning, ART Sync, PO Sync, Scrum of Scrums, system demos and Inspect and Adapt sessions
- Coach delivery teams and Scrum Masters in agile and Scrum practices
- Foster communities of practice and promote engineering excellence and quality best practice
- Manage and optimise the flow of value through the Release Train by identifying bottlenecks and driving continuous improvement
- Track and monitor delivery of features and capabilities
- Identify, manage and resolve risks, impediments and dependencies across teamsProvide clear and consistent communication on progress, issues and outcomes to stakeholders
- Measure delivery performance and maturity using agreed metrics and support ongoing improvement
- Champion KPIs, OKRs and outcome based delivery
- Develop and manage release timelines, milestones and cadences
- Work closely with Product Managers and Product Owners to ensure alignment between business priorities and delivery
- Operate within lean budgets and contribute to resourcing decisions
- Support estimation activities for features and capabilities
- Contribute to the uplift and maturity of agile practices across the organisation
- Support DevOps and Release on Demand practices to improve value flow Essential skills and experience
- Solid understanding and hands on experience with SAFe
- Experience working with agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban
- Proven experience leading and facilitating agile ceremonies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and coach at all levels
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading delivery teams
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proven ability to foster team self organisation and continuous improvement
- Experience using enterprise agile planning tools such as Jira Align, Rally, Targetprocess, Digital.ai Agility or Planview Desirable experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Five or more years' experience in agile delivery roles such as Scrum Master, Product Owner or similar leadership positions
