- Join a specialised maritime engineering team supporting delivery of a critical project.
- Play a key role in developing and managing requirements for complex maritime platform engineering.
- Chance to work on high-impact projects alongside experienced engineers across multiple disciplines. We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join Leidos Gibbs & Cox Australia. As a key member of our engineering team, you will contribute to innovative maritime projects. Responsibilities
- Produce and review electrical design documentation including single line diagrams, cable schedules, electrical power load analysis, equipment lists, and termination schedules.
- Support component and equipment selection for 440 VAC, 240 VAC and 24 VDC power, control and instrumentation systems.
- Consider environmental and installation requirements during equipment selection, including IP rating, vibration, moisture, temperature, and suitability for the operating environment.
- Contribute to electrical calculations, technical documentation, and design reviews.
- Support interface definition and coordination across electrical, control and mechanical disciplines.
- Review supplier and subcontractor documentation for technical compliance with project requirements.
- Support electrical system design activities involving power distribution, control and instrumentation, and CAN‑based communications networks.
- Contribute to engineering change management, design maturity, and technical risk identification across the project lifecycle.
- Work with system and stakeholder requirements to support electrical design development, traceability, and compliance through the project lifecycle. Qualifications
- Degree‑qualified Electrical Engineer, Marine Systems Engineer, or similar.
- Experience in the development of electrical design documentation for industrial, marine, infrastructure or other complex projects.
- Working knowledge of 440 VAC, 240 VAC and 24 VDC electrical systems, including control and instrumentation.
- Experience with single line diagrams, cable schedules, load analysis, and equipment selection.
- Familiarity with environmental considerations including IP rating, vibration, moisture, temperature and installation constraints.
- Understanding of CAN networks and their application within control systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
