Senior SharePoint Developer Location: Canberra OR Ballarat (On-Site) Contract Duration: 36 months Must have an active AGSVA NV1 or NV2 Clearance. Must be based in Canberra or Melbourne with the ability to work full time in Ballarat. About our client Our client is a leading skilled services and consulting firm, delivering strategy, technology, systems integration, and operations support across industries including Government, Financial Services, and Utilities. About the role A Senior SharePoint Developer designs, develops, and maintains advanced SharePoint solutions, providing technical leadership and mentoring while ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performance implementations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of custom SharePoint solutions, including web parts, workflows, forms, and libraries using SPFx, CSOM, REST API, and PowerShell
- Implement and maintain SharePoint portals, sites, and document management systems, ensuring usability, performance, and security
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Troubleshoot, test, and debug SharePoint applications and integrations with other enterprise systems
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews for junior developers
- Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending best practices, application enhancements, and process optimizations
- Manage SharePoint administration tasks, including system configuration, upgrades, backups, and user support
- Stay updated with the latest SharePoint features, Microsoft 365 technologies, and industry best practices Required Skills and Expertise
- Proficiency in SharePoint Online, SharePoint on‑premise, and Office 365
- Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, components, and enterprise application development
- Experience with front‑end technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, React, jQuery
- Knowledge of C#, .NET, Web Services, SQL Server, and workflow automation
- Familiarity with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, PowerShell scripting, and SPFx development
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills Qualifications and Experience
- 10 years+ SharePoint development and administration experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Developer or MCPD are desirable
