Compliance Monitoring and Reporting Officer Waste Regulation is seeking a Compliance Monitoring and Reporting Officer to undertake essential regulatory assurance activities for the regulation of waste facilities and transporters. You will work closely with Senior Compliance Officers and the Assistant Director, Waste Regulation to ensure the accuracy and completeness of regulatory records. This position supports the statutory requirement for licensed waste facilities to provide quarterly waste activity reports. You will often be the first point of contact for enquiries from regulated entities and will form productive relationships with entities to provide high quality, tailored regulatory advice. The position is responsible for the engagement program with licensees, conducting assurance and audit activities of reports received, and disseminating reported information to co-regulators and to ACT NoWaste. This work is part of the ACT Government’s contributions to the National Waste and Resource Recovery Reporting. Eligibility/Other requirements: No regulation experience is necessary. Waste or environmental industry experience, including administration, customer service or weighbridge operations would be desirable. Experience with Outlook, Objective and Salesforce platforms (including bespoke waste systems such as Waste Service Management System) would be desirable. Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 26 June 2026, with the possibility of extension up to six months. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
