Tactical Data Link (Tdl) Engineer (Canberra)

Position Overview We have a current prospect for a Tactical Data Link (TDL) Engineer on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in Canberra. The contract is for an initial 12‑month period, with two 12‑month extension options. DSS Skill Set: Level3 – Specialist Engineering – Communications Network Engineering. Responsibilities
- Manage and advise on TDLs.
- Support the management of application trials and potential procurement activities, including the coordination of training and system implementation.
- Provide policy advice on the management of TDLs.
- Provide support to the Working Groups Chair for strategic direction for TDLs within systems/platforms to enable information exchange.
- Coordinate input into the development of VMF standards, including VMF software blocking plan development.
- Provide TDL advice to support all phases of the OCDM.
- Provide COP advice to support all phases of the OCDM.
- Lead programmatic, technical and operational support to Test and Evaluation activities. Qualifications
- AGSVA Security Clearance.
- Defence experience.
- Demonstrated experience or relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Science, Engineering or IT).
- Demonstrated qualifications or specialist experience with Tactical Data Links.
- Detailed knowledge and implementation details of TADL formats and protocols and ability to analyse and assess vendor implementations of these formats.
- Demonstrated qualifications or specialist experience with Tactical Networking Bearers and Waveforms.
- Experience with the design, implementation, and analysis of tactical networking bearers, radio RF design, waveform design, and integration. Advantages HTR offers very attractive contract day rates.
