Experienced Embroidery Machine Operator – Afternoon Shift Location: Canning Vale, Perth WA Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time Shift: Monday to Friday | 2:00pm – 10:30pm (30 minute break) About Us Thorny Devil Access is a proudly WA owned and operated business with locations in Canning Vale, Karratha and Port Hedland. As our embroidery and printing department continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Embroidery Machine Operator to join our afternoon production team and help deliver exceptional custom branding for our clients. The Role We are seeking an experienced Embroidery Machine Operator for our 2:00pm – 10:30pm shift. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a production environment, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is confident operating commercial embroidery equipment. The successful applicant will be experienced with multi-head embroidery machines, capable of troubleshooting production issues, and committed to maintaining high quality and efficiency standards. As this is an afternoon-to-night shift, the role suits someone who is comfortable working during evening hours within a small, close-knit production team. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain industrial embroidery machines (Barudan experience preferred, however experience with other commercial brands is highly regarded)
- Hoop garments and prepare materials for embroidery production
- Thread, adjust and change needles, bobbins and tension settings as required
- Monitor embroidery runs to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine or design issues promptly
- Perform routine cleaning and preventative machine maintenance
- Assist with stock handling and workplace organisation
- Operate heat press equipment and support decoration production as required
- Maintain a clean, protected and efficient work area About You
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating commercial embroidery machines preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Experience running multi-head embroidery machines
- Comfortable working afternoon and night shift hours
- Able to work confidently and independently within a small team environment, typically alongside one or two other employees
- Good time management skills and ability to meet production deadlines
- Basic computer skills (Wilcom experience advantageous)
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling garments/materials
