Introduction to the Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Planner to manage and optimize production activities, ensuring timely and effective delivery of high-quality goods. Reporting to the Supply Manager, the Production Planner will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency and meeting customer expectations. Main Responsibilities **Production Planning & Scheduling**: Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the master production schedule using SAP as the primary tool for production planning and scheduling. Ensure production plans are aligned with customer delivery requirements while optimizing capacity utilization to its fullest potential. Review production orders or schedules to determine product specifications, quantities, and delivery deadlines. Analyse manufacturing specifications and plant capacity to plan manufacturing processes, resource allocation, and tooling requirements. Maintain and update work centre capacity and availability calendars. Plan and schedule workflows for departments, work centres, and operations based on manufacturing sequences and lead times. **Collaboration & Communication**: Work closely with the factory leadership team to analyse plant’s capacity requirement and address any related issues. Liaise with internal sales representatives, product support teams, and external partners to ensure smooth order processing. Lead monthly and Biweekly meetings with Market area stakeholders on Customer order progress and capacity requirements for upcoming orders. **Adaptability & Problem Resolution**: Expedite operations in response to unforeseen events, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize delivery performance. Analyse data and make decisions that minimize delays and maximize efficiency. **Data Management & Operational Support**: Support raw material forecasting processes in alignment with sales forecasts. Maintain and update manufactured parts master data in SAP, ensuring data accuracy and costing integrity. Key Competencies for Success **To excel in this role, you should**: Have a strong understanding of production/supply chain processes. Be able to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining focus and productivity. Possess excellent communication skills and foster positive relationships with colleagues. Demonstrate leadership skills to motivate and guide team members. Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to make quick, effective decisions. Display planning, analytical, and organizational expertise. Essential Qualifications & Skills Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering (or Equivalent) At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing environment. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and SAP. Excellent planning, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills. Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude toward change and continuous learning. Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities. Self-Motivated and proactive approach to problem solving. Desirable Qualifications & Skills Experience in a rubber products manufacturing facility.
