- 26 May 2026 > 23 Jun 2026 Summary Our client, The Harrisdale Corner, is seeking to add a Chef to support its growing kitchen operations in Harrisdale, WA. Known for delivering fresh, high-quality meals and excellent customer service, the venue serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to a diverse local clientele. The successful candidate will contribute to menu preparation, maintain food quality standards, and assist in delivering an efficient, professional, and well-organised kitchen environment. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Preparing and cooking high-quality breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu items.
- Monitoring food quality during preparation, cooking, and final presentation stages.
- Assisting with menu planning and seasonal dish development for café operations.
- Estimating food requirements and supporting kitchen stock control procedures.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout all kitchen preparation areas.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
- Managing food storage procedures and monitoring ingredient freshness daily.
- Working collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff during busy service periods.
- Preparing sauces, garnishes, and accompaniments to support menu consistency.
- Training junior kitchen staff on food preparation and safe kitchen practices.
- Assisting with ordering supplies and monitoring kitchen inventory requirements.
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and maintaining consistent meal presentation standards.
- Reducing food wastage through efficient preparation and portion control practices.
- Supporting effective kitchen workflow while maintaining service quality under pressure.
- Contributing to a positive and professional team-focused kitchen environment. Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management required, with Diploma qualifications highly regarded for this position.
- Minimum one year of recent full time experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong ability to prepare and present high-quality meals consistently across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service periods.
- Sound understanding of food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and safe kitchen operating procedures within hospitality environments.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to food quality and presentation standards.
- Experience assisting with menu preparation, stock ordering, and kitchen inventory management in busy hospitality operations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff members daily.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to maintain a clean, efficient, and professional kitchen workplace.
