At ATCO Gas Australia, we deliver essential energy to homes and businesses across Western Australia, operating the state’s largest gas distribution network with over 800,000 connections and 15,000km of pipeline. We’re looking for a Senior Risk & Safety Engineer to join our Technical Compliance team in Jandakot. This is a key role where you’ll shape how safety, risk and change are managed across the network
- supporting secure operations, regulatory compliance and long-term network integrity. What you’ll be doing
- Leading the review and ongoing maintenance of Safety Cases to ensure they remain current, robust and aligned to regulatory requirements
- Driving Management of Change (MOC), including risk assessments, reporting and supporting changes through to close-out
- Acting as a key point of guidance for risk and safety practices across the business, supporting consistent and practical application
- Planning and facilitating safety studies such as HAZOPs, FSAs and broader risk assessments across operational and project environments
- Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of safety management systems and compliance frameworks
- Supporting and guiding engineers within the team, while partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders What you’ll bring
- Engineering or Science qualification, with experience in gas, pipelines or a similar high-risk industry
- Strong background in Safety Case regimes, risk management and process safety
- Hands-on experience with MOC processes and leading or facilitating safety studies (e.g. HAZOP)
- The ability to work across the business, influencing outcomes and bringing stakeholders with you
- A structured, analytical approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities Why this role stands out
