Mechanical Engineer
(High Voltage Power Services)
Location: Perth, WA
Company: Sigma Power Services Pty Ltd
Employment Type: Full-Time (Minimum 38 Hours Per Week)
Remuneration/Benefits: $83,000
- $135,000 per annum + Superannuation + Premium Loading for On-site Works
- commensurate to work experience, skills and qualifications.
Sigma Power Services is a leading provider of high-voltage testing, commissioning, maintenance, and asset management services across the mining, oil & gas, and renewable energy sectors. As part of the Tasmea Group, we deliver specialised engineering solutions to major clients across Australia.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team and support our expanding portfolio of high-voltage projects.
Key Responsibilities
Support transformer maintenance activities including oil filtration, regeneration, and mechanical inspections
Assist with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HV equipment (transformers, switchgear, RMUs)
Conduct condition assessments and provide technical recommendations for asset reliability and life extension
Prepare technical reports, inspection documentation, and engineering assessments
Coordinate with electrical engineers and field technicians to deliver integrated project outcomes
Assist in developing maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and client requirements
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (HV industry, power, mining, or heavy industry preferred)
Exposure to transformer systems, oil-filled equipment, or rotating/static plant is advantageous
Strong understanding of maintenance practices and asset management principles
Desirable
Experience with transformer oil processing, cooling systems, or pressure systems
Exposure to commissioning or shutdown environments
