**Lead Laboratory Manager**

**Join the Team** Our innovative APAC SD Technical Team ensures that our customers have fit for purpose products and services to operate effectively and safely.
**Partner with the best** As the Lead Laboratory Manager, you will be primarily managing and conducting a vast range of O&G; production chemistry tests, ranging from simple to novel specialised testing in our Jandakot laboratory located in Perth. Second to this you will govern our regional Upstream Chemicals laboratories ensuring best laboratory practice is assured for our customers.
As a Lead Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible to:
- Managing the Upstream Chemicals laboratories Perth laboratory ensuring all aspects of management are attained to the highest possible levels; HSE, HRA, JSA, processes, procedures, operating manuals, document control, inventory management, ordering, competency, equipment maintenance, equipment verification/calibration, and so on
- Working with the Upstream Chemicals Technical Manager to ensure Technical Service Request (TSR)s for testing are conducted in a timely, efficient manner
- Planning and organising work to be conducted by yourself or laboratory technicians
- Drafting and/or reviewing laboratory work instructions provided by the Upstream Chemicals Technical Manager as required
- Training, mentoring and managing laboratory technicians and field personnel who occasionally come to support laboratory activities
- Ensuring laboratory technicians are competency based assessed to perform routine testing
- Providing governance over the regional laboratories ensuring there is laboratory management alignment across the region with periodic visits to these laboratories as needed
**Fuel your passion**
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor’s in chemistry or a related science discipline that includes chemistry or materials science units
- Have a minimum of 10 years of laboratory experience, preferably within O&G;, have electrochemical corrosion testing experience, a bonus is High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) experience
- Be willing to travel to other countries with APAC on occasion to ensure our regional laboratories met the same standards you have set at the Perth laboratory
- Demonstrated competency of Microsoft Office software products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with fluency in written and verbal English
- Have strong desire to conduct hands on testing, develop new techniques, manage a lab and mentor our employees to ultimately resolve production chemistry challenges
