Role

The Cleaner, under general supervision of the Cleaner in Charge/Senior Cleaner in Charge, is responsible for a range of internal and external cleaning duties. This includes maintaining carpets and hard floor surfaces, cleaning toilets, furniture, fittings and windows, as well as handling tasks such as dusting and rubbish removal. Vacation cleaning duties involve activities such as stripping and sealing vinyl floors, shampooing carpets, and pressure cleaning verandas.

The Cleaner also reports faults, maintenance issues and incidents to the designated supervisor while ensuring schools are cleaned and maintained in compliance with Department and occupational safety standards.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.

Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before starting.

Be an Australian or Recent Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
