Dog Grooming Assistant (Willetton)

We’re looking for a **reliable, hands-on Dog Grooming Assistant** to support our grooming team in a busy, well-established daycare & grooming salon.

As a Grooming Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of the grooming process, helping our groomers stay on schedule while ensuring dogs are calm, clean, and cared for.

**Your duties will include**:

- Bathing, blow-drying, brushing, and de-shedding
- Nail clipping and basic hygiene trims
- Clipping and tidying (face, feet, sanitary, basic body clips)
- Safe handling of dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Providing gentle care, reassurance, and positive handling at all times
- Maintaining cleanliness of grooming areas, tools, and equipment
- Assisting senior groomers during full grooms as required

**We’re looking for**:

- Previous experience in a grooming salon or similar setting
- Confidence with bathing, drying, brushing, nail clipping, and basic clipping
- Strong dog handling skills
- A calm, patient approach with dogs
- Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Able to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Comfortable with physical work and a rapid-paced environment
- Happy to get wet, dirty, and covered in fur
- Willing to learn and grow within the role

This is a **physically active role** — you’ll be on your feet, lifting dogs, working with water, hair, and noise. It’s not glamorous, but it _is_ rewarding.
- Casual rate, with part-time to full time hours available
- Shifts available Monday-Friday (and occasional Saturdays if needed)
- Must be flexible with start and finish times
- Long-term availability preferred (no short-term or working holiday visas)
- Must be willing to assist in other areas when required, including reception duties and doggy daycare.

Pay: From $31.35 per hour
