About the Role

The Senior HR Business Partner provides end‑to‑end HR support to operational business units across Australia. The role partners closely with leaders to support workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, and organisational effectiveness. This hands‑on position supports multiple entities and combines operational HR delivery with strategic business partnering responsibilities within a dynamic, industrial setting. Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering

Act as the primary HR partner for assigned business units, supporting leaders in aligning people strategies with operational goals. Provide practical advice and coaching to managers on performance management, employee relations, and leadership effectiveness. Support organisational design, workforce planning, and succession planning activities.

Employee Relations and Compliance

Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary processes, and performance concerns. Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation, up-to-date awards, and enterprise agreements. Provide guidance on workplace policies and procedures.

Operational HR Delivery

Support the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, performance cycles, and off‑boarding. Monitor and interpret HR metrics to identify trends and support decision‑making. Partner with operational and technical leaders in field‑based or production environments. Contribute to the development and improvement of HR processes and practices.

Projects and Continuous Improvement

Contribute to Global and Regional HR initiatives and projects. Support initiatives that strengthen engagement, capability, and retention. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and service delivery.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated experience in an HR Business Partner or senior HR generalist role, ideally within mining, manufacturing, engineering, or similar operational environments. Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, modern awards, and industrial relations. Proven experience managing employee relations matters and advising leaders. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills. Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities. Practical, solutions‑focused approach to HR challenges.
