APO has been contracted by North Queensland Export Terminal Pty Ltd to manage operations of it’s coal export terminal at the Port of Abbot Point
- Australia’s northernmost coal port
- located 25 kilometres north of Bowen, between Townsville and Mackay, serving as the gateway to the Whitsundays. Abbot Point Operations has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Engineering Services and Project Delivery team and play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of capital projects across site. Reporting directly to the Project Delivery Superintendent, you will lead assigned projects from planning through to execution, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with APO’s project management systems and business objectives. What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage assigned sustaining capital projects across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety requirements
- Develop justifications and capital project applications
- Coordinate and influence internal and external project teams, contractors, and stakeholders
- Develop and maintain project delivery plans, forecasts, budgets, and reporting requirements
- Identify and manage project risks, critical issues, and change management processes
- Support contractor management, procurement activities, and commercial engagements
- Apply technical and project management expertise to support investigation, design, and construction activities
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of APO’s Project Works Program What We’re Looking For:
- Demonstrated experience delivering capital or infrastructure projects within industrial, mining, ports, heavy industry, or similar environments
- Strong project management capability with the ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and contractors to achieve project outcomes
- Sound understanding of project management systems, budgeting, risk management, and reporting
- Strong communication, written and stakeholder engagement skills
