Work Location – Bowen or Proserpine Remuneration $97,048.14 to $100,846.85 Base Salary per annum PARTNERING WITH LEADERSHIP | EMPOWERING OUR PEOPLE | DELIVERING EXCELLENCE THE OPPORTUNITY: Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives on partnering with leaders to drive organisational performance? We are seeking two Human Resources Business Partners to play a critical role in aligning people strategies with operational outcomes across Council. Acting as a trusted advisor to your designated directorate/s, you will move beyond transactional HR support to deliver strategic workforce solutions that enable high performance, compliance, and a positive workplace culture. In this role, you will directly influence organisational success by strengthening leadership capability, driving workforce planning, and supporting a values-based, engaged workforce. This position offers flexibility to be based in either Bowen or Proserpine, with regular travel between locations to ensure consistent and visible HR support across our organisation. YOUR IMPACT: As a key member of the People and Culture team, you will provide specialist, end-to-end HR support across the employee lifecycle, including:

Strategic Business Partnering
- Partner with directors and leaders to deliver workforce planning initiatives aligned to organisational priorities.
- Provide expert advice on people strategies, performance development, and contemporary work practices.
- Talent Management & Workforce Capability
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes including position design, advertising, selection and onboarding.
- Support structured onboarding and career pathway development to strengthen capability across directorate/s.
- Performance & Culture
- Coordinate and support performance development programs, enabling leaders to effectively manage performance and build high-performing teams.
- Contribute to organisational development initiatives through insights from workforce data and trends.
- Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide expert advice on employee relations matters, including grievances, investigations and disciplinary processes.
- Ensure compliance with industrial instruments, employment legislation and Council policies.
- Engagement & Inclusion
- Support diversity and inclusion initiatives and contribute to a positive, respectful and safe workplace culture.
- Act as a visible and trusted point of contact for employees, providing practical, solution-focused HR support. WHAT YOU BRING:
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Industrial & Legislative Expertise: Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying employment legislation, industrial awards and agreements.
- HR Generalist Strength: Proven experience across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management and employee relations.
- Communication & Influence: Highly developed interpersonal and professional writing skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
- Systems & Reporting: Robust digital literacy, with experience using business systems (e.g. TechnologyOne, SharePoint, ECM) and analysing workforce data.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and travel between locations as required. WHY JOIN OUR TEAM?
