Metal Fabricator / Workshop Team Leader (Belmont)

Tristar Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator/Workshop Team Leader to join our growing operations in Belmont, Western Australia. The successful applicant will be responsible for metal fabrication and workshop production activities, while also assisting with the day-to-day coordination of workshop staff and operations. Key duties include:
· reviewing metal fabrication drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
· preparing and organising metal materials, fasteners and related components for fabrication and production processes
· inspecting fabricated metal components and machinery regularly to maintain quality standards and minimise production downtime
· identifying product defects or non-conformities during fabrication processes and implementing corrective action where required
· measuring and marking out metal sections and components prior to cutting or shaping
· operating metal fabrication and processing machinery used in customising metal products
· operating hand tools and metal cutting machinery to cut and customise metal sections and components
· assembling fabricated metal fasteners and components to required specifications
· performing chamfering and finishing processes on fabricated metal products
· identifying and rectifying fabrication defects or non-conformities during the production process
· conducting maintenance checks on fabrication machinery and workshop tools
· ensuring fabricated products meet required quality standards and client specifications
· supporting workshop safety, housekeeping and production compliance requirements
· assisting with coordination and supervision of subordinate multi-cultural warehouse personnel To be considered for the role, applicants should demonstrate:
· at least 3 years relevant full-time experience in metal fabrication or a closely related field
· relevant trade qualifications in metal fabrication or equivalent full-time industry experience
· experience operating fabrication and metal processing machinery
· ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
· solid workshop safety awareness and attention to detail
