- $85k plus superannuation Table 26 Carindale is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our professional kitchen team. This is a full-time position for a passionate culinary professional who can lead kitchen operations, maintain high food standards, and contribute to menu development. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and design menus in consultation with management, considering seasonal produce and customer preferences.
- Organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food to ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained.
- Manage and supervise kitchen staff including chefs, cooks, and kitchen hands.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, kitchen procedures, and safe use of equipment.
- Monitor food preparation and cooking processes at all stages to maintain quality control.
- Manage stock levels, order food supplies, and control kitchen costs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Coordinate kitchen operations during busy service periods to ensure effective workflow. Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum qualification: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management, or equivalent qualification in commercial cookery (mandatory).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as a head chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards.
