Fitter Mechanic - Field Service (Belmont)

Job Posting Date: 28 May 2026 Company: Coates Position Type: Permanent Full Time Here’s how you’ll be a part of our team As a Field Service Mechanic at Coates Belmont, you’ll take responsibility for maintaining and repairing Coates equipment directly on customer sites. You’ll work across a variety of industries and equipment types, delivering reliable, high-quality service where it matters most. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring independence, adaptability and robust customer engagement, along with solid mechanical and electrical capability. What you’ll be doing
- Perform safe, effective and efficient preventative maintenance, reactive servicing and overhauls on customer sites
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a variety of equipment on site – work on large earthmoving, generators, lighting plants and boom lifts.
- Build strong customer relationships, delivering trusted, professional service that reinforces Coates as the supplier of choice
- Ensure stock levels of spare parts are available to undertake any repair on site.

- Relevant trade qualification
- Experience with petrol and diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems
- Robust fault-finding and diagnostic capability (electrical focus highly regarded)
- Effective time management and ability to work independently in the field
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
- Your own tools
- Valid driver’s licence (MR/HR preferred)
