Business Development Manager Are you a commercially driven relationship-builder with a passion for creating strategic partnerships and driving business growth? We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Development Manager to lead membership growth initiatives, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and identify new opportunities to expand market presence. - Develop and implement strategic business development initiatives to drive membership growth and retention
- Actively promote and sell membership packages to prospective individuals and organisations across target sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers and industry stakeholders
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and convert leads into membership acquisitions
- Represent the organisation at networking events, conferences, and client meetings to generate and convert membership interest
- Gather and analyse market intelligence to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with internal teams to align growth strategies and deliver exceptional member experiences
- Track performance outcomes and contribute to ongoing membership growth targets Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in business development, account management, sales, or stakeholder engagement
- Strong experience in consultative selling, including identifying needs, articulating value, and closing opportunities
- Strong ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated success in achieving growth targets and expanding client or membership portfolios
- Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends and feedback
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented
- Experience within membership-based organisations, professional services, associations, or industry bodies will be highly regarded Nice to Have:
- Existing industry network within relevant sectors
- Experience in strategic planning, market analysis, or meeting/exceeding sales targets Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in business development, B2B sales, or client relationship management
- Demonstrated success in growing membership or client portfolios Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel for industry events and client meetings
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
