**Organisation**

Brightside Recruitment is partnering with a specialist family violence organisation based in Ravenshall. This is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, serving the community over 30 years. They are dedicated to providing advocacy and support for the empowerment of Aboriginal women, children, young people, and the wider community.

**Role**

The Support Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the Manager and the AHU team in day-to-day operational tasks, data collection, and reporting. The position contributes to a holistic approach aimed at improving the social and emotional well-being of individuals, reducing recidivism, and promoting affirmative employment opportunities for those with lived experience of the criminal justice system.

As the Support Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive administrative support to the Manager and team. This includes tasks such as data collection, reporting, and managing reception duties with professionalism.

You'll also be responsible for coordinating bookings, managing supplies, and assisting in groupwork sessions while supporting case managers as required. Your commitment to upholding internal policies and procedures, along with maintaining confidentiality and effective records management, will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our programs. Collaboration with team members to provide support across various programs will be essential for success in this role.

**Selection Criteria**
- Must be Female and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identified position
- Relevant qualification in Social Science, Community Development or relevant field and/or extensive experience in the community services sector
- Proven experience working within Aboriginal communities
- Knowledge and experience of current issues, policies and programs relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to positively engage with stakeholders and develop relationships/partnerships

**Additional Information**
- Qualification in Health or Business Administration or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in administration, preferably in the community sector.
- Capacity to work with justice-involved people experiencing multiple and complex needs.
- Demonstrated capacity to work within an integrated and collaborative approach.
- Demonstrated skills in program administration and budget management.
- Ability to handle pressured situations with resourcefulness, adaptability, and creative thinking.
- Capacity to work creatively, demonstrate initiative, contribute ideas, and be active in a supportive team workplace.
- Interest in working with people from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal, LGBTIQA+ and culturally and linguistically diverse people and communities.
