Description
We’re Alignr, a modern recruitment partner helping ambitious businesses hire smarter and scale faster.
This time, we’re working exclusively with a fast-growing construction business that’s gone from early-stage to delivering multiple $10M+ projects — now scaling into its next phase. They've built a serious reputation, a strong pipeline, and a tight-knit team that gets things done.
Now they need an experienced Project Manager to come in, take ownership, and run.
Fast-paced. No BS. Close to the owners
- who are absolute legends!
Are you looking for…
- A role where you own projects completely — from award to handover?
- The chance to work directly with the MD on a growing book of commercial work?
- A business where your experience is trusted and you're not micromanaged?
- Exposure to modular construction projects?
- A chance to step up into a full-scale PM role? What's in it for you...
- Attractive salary: $140,000–$150,000 Base + Super
- Full project ownership — you run the job, you make the calls
- Work directly with the MD — daily access, zero layers
- Tight-knit team, no politics, no bureaucracy
- just pure legends
- In office role in Ravenhall — close to the work, close to the action
- Grow with the business!
- Be part of a business scaling fast with a strong forward pipeline The company
a modular construction business, they've gone from a lean start-up to a business managing multiple live projects simultaneously, and they're not slowing down!
The next phase of growth needs a proper Project Manager in place — someone the MD can hand jobs to and trust they'll be delivered, end-end.
Full Project Ownership
- Manage 7–8 live projects simultaneously from award through to handover
- Develop and maintain project schedules to keep delivery on time and within scope
- Oversee quality control — ensuring work meets company and client standards throughout
- Assist with take-offs, project planning and construction methodology where required Client & Stakeholder Management
- Be the primary point of contact for clients, builders, subcontractors and suppliers
- Represent the business professionally on site and in client-facing meetings
- Manage expectations, resolve issues, and keep communication tight at every stage Technical Coordination
- Read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
- Coordinate effectively between the drafting team and onsite installation crews
- Manage compliance with building codes, quality standards and site safety requirements Trade, Procurement & Subcontractor Coordination
- Coordinate subbies, trades, suppliers and equipment requirements
- Manage materials and procurement in conjunction with builders and the office team
- Hold people accountable to scope, program and quality standards Who we're looking for..
This is not a step-up role, we need someone who has done the work, can plug in and take the lead. You could be an experienced Project manager in construction or maybe this role suits someone who's been doing the work but not getting the recognition — ready for a business that will back them and get out of their way.
You'll likely:
- Have 10+ years in the construction industry
- Hold 2+ years as a Project Manager OR 4+ years as a Senior Project Coordinator, ready to step up
- basically someone that's already doing the job, just doesn't have the title.
- Have strong commercial project experience — commercial, tier 1 high rise, education, health, medium-density (not pure volume residential)
- Be modular construction experienced or deeply curious about it
- Be client-savvy, personable, and someone people trust on site
- Be based on the west side of Melbourne or comfortable commuting to Ravenhall each day
- Be independent, reliable, and ready to hit the ground running Who this isn't for ❌ Anyone without actual Project Manager experience in construction — this is not a step-up role. You need to have done this job before and be ready to lead from day one ❌ People who need heavy structure, hand-holding, or constant check-ins
❌ Candidates who are precious about titles — this is about delivery, not hierarchy
❌ Anyone not comfortable being fully onsite 5 days a week
❌ People who struggle in fast-moving environments
Must-haves
- 10+ years in the construction industry
- 2+ years as a Project Manager OR 4+ years as a Senior Project Coordinator
- Strong commercial construction background (schools, hospitals, medium-density)
- Full project lifecycle experience — award through to handover
- Client management experience — comfortable being the face of a project
- Based in or comfortable commuting to Melbourne's western suburbs Nice to haves
- Modular construction experience is highly regarded!
- Experience in lean, owner-operated businesses Hiring process
- Step 1: Apply + complete short screening questions
- Step 2: If aligned, receive a quick alignment survey (<2 mins)
- Step 3: Alignment call with Alignr
- Step 4: 1–2 rounds of interviews
- Step 5: Offer + onboarding plan Apply now and complete the short screening questions to get started. If everything lines up, we'll move fast — this business doesn't hang around.
