- This is an immediate start position Casual Cook / Kitchen Hand (Lunch Shifts + Potential Evenings) Location: Carrara, QLD Hours: 3–4 days per week (approx. 4–5 hours per day around lunchtime) Classification: Casual About Us We are a busy Japanese takeaway shop in Carrara. We serve high-quality, fresh Japanese food to a loyal local customer base. We are a small, hard-working team looking for a reliable cook who can step right into our kitchen and help us handle the busy lunch rush. The Role & Hours This is a casual position perfect for someone looking for stable day shifts.
- Standard Schedule: 3 to 4 days per week.
- Daily Hours: 4 to 5 hours per day, scheduled around our peak lunchtime rush (our current shop hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm).
- Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook hot food items and daily specials.
- Assist with high-volume food prep before and during the lunch rush.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen station according to food safety standards.
- Ensure takeaway orders are packed accurately and presented beautifully. What We Need From You
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen (please note, this is not a dishwashing role).
- Skills: Prior experience in sushi making (rolling, cutting, and prep) is highly regarded.
- Transport: Our shop is not easily accessible by public transport. You must have your own reliable car and a valid driver’s licence to ensure you can get to work on time.
- Work Ethic: Quick, organized, and reliable under pressure.
