It’s a place where career, lifestyle and recreation exist to create the perfect place to live and work. ________________________________________ About the Role As Director Corporate, Community and Development Services, you will lead and integrate the following key service areas:
- Corporate Governance
- Community Engagement and Events
- Planning, Development and Regulatory Services
- Economic Development and Tourism
- Information Technology Services You will work collaboratively with the CEO, Councillors, Executive Leadership Team and key stakeholders to ensure Council’s strategic, operational and legislative responsibilities are met, while driving innovation, performance and continuous improvement. You will lead 6 direct reports and a broad multidisciplinary directorate that drives internal capability, accountability and service excellence. Key responsibilities include:
- Drive strong governance, risk management, policy development and compliance
- Oversee planning, regulatory and development services to support sustainable growth
- Champion community engagement, partnerships and major events
- Lead economic development and tourism initiatives to strengthen the region
- Ensure effective financial stewardship, budget management and resource allocation
- Oversee ICT systems, cyber security and digital transformation initiatives.
- Lead, develop and inspire multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performing services and build positive workplace relationships. ________________________________________ About You You will be a hands-on strategic leader, who will inspire and motivate your team and have proven success delivering organisational change, driving innovation, and fostering collaborative, high performing teams. Politically astute, you build trust, communicate with clarity, and understand the broader context in which Local Government operates. You will bring:
- Relevant degree qualifications in Business, Commerce, Urban Planning or a related discipline
- Extensive senior leadership experience across complex, multidisciplinary portfolios
- Strong understanding of governance, planning and regulatory environments
- Proven success leading cultural change and high-performance teams
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing large budgets
- A commitment to customer service, ethical leadership and community outcomes ________________________________________ What we offer An attractive total remuneration package of approx. $227,813 is offered based on skills and experience along with other perks.
