We're looking for energetic individuals to join our Cane Supply team as Locomotive Driver Assistants. You'll be working alongside a small rail crew during the crushing season, helping deliver bins of sugar cane and working closely with the Locomotive Driver. This role is a seasonal position that involves shift work during the crushing season, weekend work and some overtime may be required. Your Role in Action
- Handling Sugar Cane Bins: Assist the Locomotive Driver with assembling and moving empty and full sugar cane bins for delivery.
- Explicit Communication: Support safe train movements through clear communication with the Locomotive Driver via hand signals and radio.
- Safety Awareness: Keep a watchful eye on train movements and site activity to maintain a secure working environment.
- Attention to Detail: Monitor sugar cane bins and rail lines and report any damage.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness on the Locomotive and perform routine servicing as required. Your Winning Combination A 'C' class driver's licence is essential. Candidates should have good written and verbal communication skills, be collaborative team players, and bring high energy with a passion for working outdoors.
