About the company: This growing and reputable construction business delivers high-quality projects across the commercial and residential sectors and continues to experience strong growth. Due to an increasing workload and exciting new projects, the business is looking to strengthen its finance team with the addition of an experienced Accounts Payable / Accounts Officer. You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business while partnering closely with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors. About the opportunity: Reporting to the CEO, the Accounts Payable / Accounts Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, subcontractor payments, reconciliations, and general accounts administration. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- End-to-end accounts payable processing
- Matching purchase orders, invoices, and delivery dockets
- Processing subcontractor claims and supplier payments
- Managing creditor reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assisting with month-end processes and reporting requirements
- Managing high-volume invoice processing within a construction environment
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams
- Supporting general accounts and administrative functions as required About you: This opportunity is best suited to an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Payable professional who thrives within a fast-paced construction workplace. The ideal candidate will have strong experience using Cheops and enjoy working collaboratively across both finance and operations teams.
- Previous experience within an Accounts Payable or Accounts Officer role
- Strong working knowledge of Cheops is essential
- Previous experience within the construction industry is highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
