**Maintenance and Repairs Team Member**

An exciting prospect exists for an enthusiastic and experienced person to be part of the Maintenance Team at Inala. In this role you will be involved in all aspects of maintenance of a number of homes, day and community services, administration buildings and grounds maintenance.

You will be responsible for scheduled general maintenance and repairs as required in Sydney’s North West and Eastern Suburbs

Additionally you will need to be able to:

- Analyse a situation and solve problems or suggest recommendations
- Embrace and connect with Inala’s vision and core values, including the ability to engage with people with a disability
- Show initiative as well as work as part of a team
- Demonstrate ability to multitask and prioritise workload
- Demonstrate ability to operate independently and professionally with limited supervision

**Responsibilities Include but are not limited to**: You primary duties will include carrying out scheduled maintenance, grounds tasks and repair work as required and outlined by the Maintenance Manager.

Additionally you will be required to:

- Work with other ‘teams’ at Inala as required (e.g. Events related work, such as set up)
- Carry out work safely and in line with WHS Policies and Procedures
- Identify, reduce and manage risks related to work you are carrying out
- Provide a high standard of service in all areas of responsibility
- Maintain all necessary records, program and daily notes and summaries as requested.
- Provide and maintain reports with respect to repairs, jobs, complaints and other issues as they arise to the Facilities and Property Manager
- Ensure confidentiality of information and security of all personal property of clients and staff.
- Ensure safe, healthy and aesthetic work environments for all clients, staff and visitors to Inala
- Ensure safe and fully functioning equipment and relevant resources for all designated areas of Inala.

**Essential criteria**
- Proven experience in a range of maintenance work
- Able to work as part of a team
- Ability to take initiative and to build/maintain relationships
- Have own vehicle with a valid driver’s license
- Have own basic tool kit
- Commitment to the human-centred Ethos and approaches of Inala
- Current drivers licence
- Completion of the NDIS Workers Module

**Desirable Criteria**
- Carpentry, mechanical and/or painting skills would be an added advantage
- Experience in direct support assistance for persons with disabilities
- Familiarity with Steiner based Ethos and approaches

**Other information**

**Location**: Inala Head Office Cherrybrook, but will require some travel

**Reports to**: Maintenance Manager

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $37.00
- $50.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Maintenance: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- NDIS Worker Check (preferred)
