This business supports a broad range of education clients alongside mid-sized enterprise environments and they are looking for an experienced Firewall Engineer who genuinely knows their stuff. - Palo Alto | Fortinet | This is not a “watch dashboards all day” type role. This is hands-on engineering. Designing, deploying, troubleshooting and improving secure environments across multiple client networks. You’ll work across both project and BAU work while acting as a technical escalation point for complex firewall and security issues. If you enjoy solving problems, working directly with clients and getting deep into modern security technologies, this one is worth a look. What You’ll Be Doing…
- Designing, deploying and supporting Palo Alto and/or Fortinet firewall environments
- Configuring SSL inspection/decryption, web filtering and SafeSearch policies
- Implementing identity-based security controls using AD, SSO, FSSO and related technologies
- Managing VPNs, threat prevention, IDS/IPS and application control
- Supporting secure segmentation across school and enterprise networks
- Providing L2/L3 troubleshooting and technical escalation support
- Assisting with solution design, pre-sales conversations and documentation
- Delivering upgrades, migrations and security improvement projects
- Working closely with internal engineers and client stakeholders What We’re Looking For You’re probably already working in an MSP, MSSP or multi-client environment and enjoy the variety that comes with it. You’ll bring strong practical experience across:
- Palo Alto and/or Fortinet firewalls
- SSL inspection and advanced security features
- Routing, VLANs, NAT, DNS and networking fundamentals
- Identity-aware security and access controls
- Threat prevention and modern cyber security practices
- Multi-site or multi-client environments Experience working with education clients will be highly regarded but isn’t essential. Certifications That Will Help…
- Palo Alto PCNSE / NGFW Engineer
- Fortinet NSE4 / NSE5 / NSE7
