About Us Pyrologic Fire Services is a medium-sized fire services contracting company delivering automatic fire sprinkler systems, fire hydrant and hose reel systems, fire alarm systems and evacuation systems. We are expanding rapidly due to the successful delivery of numerous projects, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our dynamic team. About the Role As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, mentoring, and overseeing the delivery of fire protection systems design across a range of projects. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards while delivering high-quality solutions to our clients. This role offers significant opportunities for career growth within a rapidly expanding company. Key Responsibilities
- System Design: Design fire protection systems, including sprinklers, hydrants, smoke detection, alarms, and more, using industry-standard software like AutoCAD, REVIT, HYENA and 3DBIM.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire safety systems into building designs. Coordinate with project managers to ensure designs are delivered on time and meet client specifications.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all designs comply with Australian standards, codes (e.g., AS1851, BCA), and client requirements. Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, reports, and calculations.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their fire protection needs and provide expert advice on solutions. Present design concepts and address inquiries throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks to ensure all systems are designed and implemented correctly and in adherence to safety standards. What We’re Looking For
- Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience designing and engineering fire protection systems, including sprinklers, hydrants, and smoke detection systems.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, HYENA, 3DBIM, Excel and other industry-standard design software.
- Knowledge: A strong understanding of Australian codes and standards (e.g., AS1851, BCA) and fire protection engineering principles.
- Client-Facing Experience: Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact with clients and project stakeholders.
- Certifications: FPAS accreditation, RBP, or Fire Safety Designer qualifications.
