Assistant Accountant (North Rocks)

Attractive opportunity for an Assistant Accountant in Western Sydney!

Your recent company is a well-known organisation that includes a group of companies in Australia. Based in Western Sydney, they are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the Finance team.

Your new role will include but will not be limited to:

- Responsible for timely and accurate accounting of cash & banking activities, perform analysis, cash flow forecasting, reconciliations, and investigations.
- Ensure timely and accurate fixed asset reporting (additions, disposals, transfers, physical verification).
- Assist with the monthly general ledger closure process in BC and Analytics, including posting journals, accruals, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations.
- Responsible for the review of the monthly Profit Centre Statement of Operations.
- Partner with and provide support to the Profit Centre Manager with relevant queries/requests on operational/financial matters.
- Attend to ABS Reporting when required.
- Assist in gathering required documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist in the preparation of taxation obligations.
- Documentation and maintenance of process notes and internal controls.
- Maintain best practices according to accounting, audit, and government and tax standards. What you'll need to succeed

Similar experience in a large organisation would be ideal. Knowledge of Microsoft Navision or Business Central would be beneficial.
