The Opportunity As a Senior Financial Analyst you will maximise capital efficiency and shape the direction of future deployments. You will be responsible for analysis and reporting for the performance of the investment program. This ranges from reporting top-line performance to deep-diving on drivers such as customer shifts, department optimisations, archetype roll-outs and store inclusions. This role will use these insights to inform recommendations to the broader 360 team across retail banners. Additionally, the role is responsible for building and managing trusted relationships with key business partners, including the Director of Format Development, Network & Strategy, and the Director of Smarter Operations, and their teams. What you'll do You are more than a reporter; you are a commercial advisor who translates complex datasets into store-level strategy. More specifically you will: Conduct Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) for AU-Retail, identifying variances between proposed and actual results to extract strategic learnings. Undertake root cause analysis on POCs and Pilots, utilising financial and customer data to determine how to enhance specific programs. Build trusted relationships with the Directors of Format Development and Smarter Operations, acting as a "thought leader" in investment decisions. Ensure insights are incorporated into future deployment plans and help shape the future of the Woolworths network. Leverage SQL (BigQuery) and Looker to automate reporting pipelines and collaborate with Data Science teams to build scalable data assets. What you'll bring
- 3-5 years of post-qualification experience and a mastery of financial systems like SAP and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- CA/CPA qualification (preferred)
- Advanced data modeling skills with the ability to build "best-in-class" business cases that incorporate commercial and performance insights.
- Proven ability to negotiate and influence senior stakeholders, moving projects from initial concept through to successful implementation.
- Exceptional storyboarding and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to "make the complex straightforward" for diverse audiences.
- A deep understanding of capital programs, cost/benefit analysis, and the link between financial modeling and long-term strategic objectives.
- An innovative and curious approach to problem-solving, focused on identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities for capital efficiency. What you’ll experience
